Reentry Ministries

Transforming Jail Ministries is in the process of developing a discipleship coaching ministry for returning citizens: The Refinery. Our aim is to create one-on-one discipleship for persons returning home from jail, prison, or treatment. This is a great opportunity for local churches to fulfill the Great Commission mandate and be a part of total life transformation with former inmates.

Discipleship Coaches will be required to attend a rigorous training program focused on safety, ministry calling, and physical and spiritual needs for successful reentry. Each Discipleship Coach (mentor) will be partnered with one Associate (returning citizen / mentee) and equipped with community resources that can help meet tangible needs.

Jails and prisons are one of our lowest “return on investment” endeavors in U.S. history with costs ranging from $25-60k per year per inmate. We want to break the cycle of recidivism through successful reentry, but more importantly, we want to connect the formerly incarcerated with a local church that can serve as a gospel witness as they help returning citizens get back on their feet.
