Transforming Jail
Ministries has a 3-pronged focus. The first is to provide direct jail ministry to the prisoners and corrections staff in Hamilton
County. The second is to see how we might serve other jails in the Greater Tri-State area. The third is to help other jail
ministries get started, and/or improve. We are interested in quality jail ministry. Therefore we are looking to find
the best people and give them the best training and tools, in order to provide the best ministry for those in jail.
Jail and prison are very different places, with different dynamics and therefore ministry in them is different. There
is much focus on prison ministry, but hardly any exclusively focused on jail ministry. Indeed the words are used interchangeably.
We focus solely on jail ministry. We lift up jail ministry as its own unique area, not a just an extension of prison
or other ministries. We intend to continually learn, and practice, the best ministry that can be done in this unique
setting. The leadership of TJM knows from firsthand experience that the presence of committed, faithful volunteers in
jail makes a difference in the individual lives of those in jail. We also know from experience that it makes a difference
in the lives of the volunteers themselves and in the very culture of the jail. If you are
interested in being in jail ministry with TJM, sign the guestbook and we will be in touch with you. Be sure to leave
your email, phone number and/or address. TJM is incorporated and has 501 C-3 non-profit status. Grace and Peace.
